DHEA produced by the adrenal glands. Amounts of DHEA, decrease with age. Stressed people, released more serum cortisol (the body's response to stress), which decreases the levels of DHEA. SAM-e has been prescribed successfully in 14 countries for over two decades, as stated in "Newsweek", article written by Geoffrey Cowley and Ms.Underwood. S-adenosyl-Lmethionine is a compound produced by your body that is of direct importance to the functioning of at least forty major biochemical
pathways and indirect to many more. It is formed  when the body combines the essential amino acid methionine, which can only be obtained form food sources or supplements, along with ATP- the body's primary energy source.  Sam-e sometimes called "active methionine."
